Life is Good!

Life is Good!

The nicest thing happened the other day. Peter Renaud (got permission to use his full name) contacted me from Moosup, CT, to tell me he had a piece of my ceramics. That's the best part of having a web site-meeting people who have my work. I haven't painted ceramics for many years, and don't plan to in the future, so hope he holds on to it. Thank you, Peter, for making my day!

Pow- Wow

My husband and I love to go to the local powwows happening throughout the year. We always attend the Gathering of Nations Powwow in Albuquerque every April  (www.gatheringofnations.com). It's purported to be the largest powwow in the US. Indigenous people from the entire continent come to dance: It is a spectacular sight. I love to hear the drummers, too, and the incredible singing. The smaller gatherings are more fun, though, as one tends to see familiar faces over the years, and it's fun to see the young dancers compete. We are particularly touched by the respect shown to veterans at these events.  As did many Viet Nam vets, my husband experienced a hurtful, damaging reception from the folks back home when he managed to return, and to experience the utter respect given to their vets, we are so grateful to see the healing love the Indian people bestow upon their warriors.
